I did see a review of one of the US sub-models of the iPhone 4 that had had a bit of a redesign and didn't have the issue - the 'breaks' in the metal strip around the side were in different places. It's entirely possible to fix a problem like that without entirely redesigning the phone. Jon

Well not long now before we know what is coming. My guess is a memory upgrade, possible shape tweak, but little else apart from iOS changes --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=50.804036,-0.058412Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk.

I'm more interested to see what's new with iOS 5 than what's new hardware wise. I've got this phone for about another year so the hardware isnt really relevant to me. I have just read about a potential update called Assistant which is a natural language voice control system. Of course this is speculation but it suggested (and I don't doubt it having seen it on BB phones) that you could do much more with voice control. Emailing friends, rearranging appointments, etc... Looking forward to it now --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=53.851279,-1.530912

I am looking forward as well. Hardware wise I think it depends on contracts, though having seen how many apps that I have 64 gb might be sensible. I will upgrade the iPad to iOS 5 straight away. Though iCloud looks interesting. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=50.803996,-0.058278Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk.

I'm ready for new hardware, I'm excited! In fact the Aber iOS lot have booked a pub, we're going to be sitting there streaming the Keynote onto a wall all getting excited!
I'M JUMPING UP AND DOWN!

Well I'm off out tonight either for a meal or cinema or something so I'll miss the live text feed but will be watching the video tonight!

 That's a bit OTT, isn't it? It's just a phone you know...

I can kind of understand it though. There seems to be quite a big iOS dev community in Aber so I imagine most of the excitement will be about what is new in terms of dev APIs and software rather than just the new phone. That is of course assuming that iOS 5 is actually properly announced tonight. The part I am most looking forward to is the new software and what new stuff I get to play with when writing my own apps.

Well you could still get a news feed though not good if you are in a cinema and oohing and ahhing at bits completely inappropriate for the film.

Er.. they're not streaming the announcement. The only external feed is a private telecast to an invite-only event in the UK for EU journos who can't make it across the pond. You'll have to rely on some text commentary from one of the usual suspects. Jon

I seriously hope it is going to be called the 4S. Ever since it was rumoured and whilst the masses were calling it the 5 I quietly predicted that as an incremental upgrade it would be called the S or G or something along those lines and not the iPhone 5. Come on Apple, prove me right!

Indeed it is, but new phone plus new software, more API's, more memory, better CPUs. It's very exciting to be a dev I thought they usually did...? We're streaming something onto a wall anyway...
