There's a big difference between holding an opinion and knowing when and when not to voice it. Stallman patently has plenty of the former and absolutely nothing of the latter.

Regardless of whether his stance is 'noble' or not - which is an entirely subjective viewpoint anyway - there is a time and a place to make those arguments. The fact he clearly seems incapable of seeing that says more about him than any amount of purchasing of niche electronics products.

So yeah, I expected someone to point that out, but still, y'know?

Nice idea but I doubt his future visions and technological innovations will stay on the same path for long.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Apple have always planned several years in advance, nothing new here and I doubt it's related to Steve Jobs' knowledge that he was shuffling off this mortal coil.

I read somewhere that the iPad and iPhone had been planned and in development for over 4 or 5 years, much of that was waiting for the technology to catch up with their ambitions. Mac OS X development has also been mapped out to at least 10.9 - OK, certain features will evolve and be added as time goes on, but they will undoubtedly have a definite timeline of how Mac OS X is mapped out. They will probably be also working out what happens after they reach 10.9 (or run out of big cat names!).

Another interesting revelation from the Mail article is that Jobs had “also been overseeing the development of the delayed iCloud project,

Er, delayed? As far as I'm aware, Apple have always said iCloud would be arriving in the autumn... October is autumn, so how is that delayed?
