This whole story, frankly, smells funny. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-15252269Meanwhile, this cartoon in the Guardian says a lot more than it appears to. Most politicians feel that they shouldn’t get caught out when getting up to no good. http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree ... ?fb=nativeOne does wonder if these two are *ahem* “batting for the other team”. If they were, I wish they’d just bloody well say so.

I have to be honest with you, taking someone on 14 foreign trips with you... if they were a heterosexual man and woman, you'd just assume they were a couple. The situation is rather complicated by the fact Liam Fox is married (indeed, Werritty was his best man). I suppose as a politician you can get away with being 'outed' and you can sometimes get away with infidelity but I doubt you could get a way with both at once.
I don't mind if he is gay, I mean, it's pretty much irrelevant to his job. It's more the fact the guy was trading on the relationship than what the relationship was that seems to be the issue that actually matters.

Nope - it doesn’t matter. That’s my point. If that were the reason for the excessive trips, then fine. There would be complications - the marriage being the primary one. However, we must also take into consideration the very likely fact that someone gained financially, either directly or indirectly, from these meetings. Regardless of motive, there needs to be clarity at this point. Not the usual “government issue” fudged up language that Dr Fox has employed to explain the situation. The fact that there has been a clouding of the issue make me think that there is more going on than meets the eye.

This reminded me of a spoof Private Eye article:
William Hague: Do you want a boiled sweet? I'm a happily married man, you know!
