I've been wondering over the last couple of weeks, whether getting the Sensation and not waiting for the new iPhone was a mistake. What I've seen so far vindicates my decision...
For me, Apple have lost the top slot with iOS and have been caught and overtaken by Android and to a lesser extent WP7. Of the three, I prefer the live tiles of WP7, but it still has some rough edges, the Android interface, especially with Sense, has come on in leaps and bounds and both have overtaken iOS, for me.

Android is awful. I hate every moment that I have to use it.

I've seen expressed a number of times the same thought - the iPhone 4S contains every one of the functional improvements people were claiming the iPhone 5 was going to have. It is effectively the 'iPhone 5', just in an iPhone 4 case. Yet everyone is disappointed. How shallow does that make people look?

+1. I see it as a "5". They could have made fewer changes, stuck it in a new case and all the fanbois would have lapped it up.

I don’t. I read an interesting article today that the iPhone 5 won’t be around for w file due to 24 month contracts being so pervasive. iPhone 4 users are more likely to upgrade to a 5 than a 4S. However, unless they can buy themselves out of a 2 year contract, these users won’t be able to upgrade. The 4S is more likely to target the 3G and 3GS owners who have not got a 4 yet. Those people’s contracts will be out of date, and the 4S is a bit of a carrot to wave in their faces.

Hmm, just downloading iOS 5 for my 3GS, but it isn't going to be very useful... I don't have a SIM card and the 3GS doesn't support 11n networking, so I can't use it wirelessly either.

Actually, it does work... But why cripple the whole network for one device?

Can't you do "g & n", like you used to do "b & g"? And surely if you cared that much about speed you'd use wires...No excuses for not wanting to drill holes, you just need more wire I like wires....
