This thread really needs a 56k warning.

Wouldn't a roaming warning be more suitable in this day and age?

I was having a look at 2nd hand cameras in a shop window yesterday and happened across this item. I'm all for a bit of festive decoration but not to the extent of covering the camera with fake snow, quite a bit of which has gone into the camera itself.

 yep that's Cash Converters for you.

Incidentally if you have a close up of the sticker i can tell you how much they paid for it and what the lowest amount the salesman can accept for it ;) all the info's on the sticker. I'm sure some alcohol swabs will rescue the mirror.

You can also argue that they've ruined it now so should accept, ask who it was that sprayed the snow they'll be bending over backwards to sell it and cover their arse.

It's not so much dirt on the mirror, but anything that may have got inside the box and attached itself to the sensor. Make sure, if you ask for a demo of the camera, that it has been cleaned carefully before you power it up.

Oh, and check there is a body cap in the box and show them how to use it.

Here's a close up of the Nikon sticker plus one for a Canon. Any info would be gratefully received!

The Nikon they bought for £100, they aim to get 100% profit so they're actually selling that a bit lower than they would have liked (the buyer obviously isn't that sharp)..

Check some of the other stickers in the shop, if they're significantly higher than 48361 it means they've had the Nikon for ages and will be sick of seeing it, they may accept £160/£170 for it.

The Canon they bought for £160, so I would snap your hand off if you offered £325/£340 for it. Ask the manager, £330 going through the till at the end of the day is always nice.

You might have to do a bit of 'agglin' but they'll come round.

BLACKSMITH
1234567890

That's the code for what they've paid for an item. BSH/BHH 160/100

The reason people accept such derisory sums is because:
1) They're idiots
2) They're too lazy to use eBay
3) They're selling their sister's camera to buy smack
4) They've burgled it

:D I really miss Cash Converters customers.

Tar Barrels last night.
Almost got hit by a barrel, saw the guy carrying it had his mitts on fire, the next thing I know I'm being patted down by the crowd.
Showered in hot sparks and charcoal and stuff.
Fun times.

This is pretty much the instant I just missed being hit...
