When there's more than just biscuits in the biscuit tub. Had three custard creams - one was fine, one tasted like crackers and the last one tasted like spicy peanuts.

I was asked to setup a TV yesterday so everyone in the office could watch the big horse race (we get an hour or so to eat lunch and watch the race).

It was tasked to me by someone important to make sure that everyone could watch it as in previous years there'd been trouble with the live stream freezing and people missing bits.

Anyway, it took me an hour in total yesterday to get it all setup, 2 screens, one TV and one projected feed from the net and everyone was happy. (I even won $120)

I got in this morning only to be called in by my boss and told I spent too long setting things up yesterday and I should've been running my team etc etc.

It wasn't my job to setup the TV in the [LIFTED] first place, I just did it because a "C level" requested it, I spent an hour because I also had to drive to a shop and buy a TV tuner. It was a lose-lose situation.

This just about sums up what I hate about this place.

That's [LIFTED]. Did you explain why it took you so long? Did you ask what you should do in the event a similar request or request from the same level occurs?

ION: I lost out on a set of VW detroit rims which would have been perfect for winter tyres. Essentially black monza II alloys with a chrome lip. Would have been nice on my black car!

Also can't find the frikkin card reader so I can pay a bill!

just spent half an hour searching mine and my other flatmates rooms and the kitchen looking for my crutches

dont know if it was my litre of tesco value spanish rose wine, or my flatmates playing a very cruel joke on me....

they where in the kitchen, where me and 2 other flatmates had been playing cards....they where next to the door when we finally found them...

I explained why it took me so long, I also explained why it was given priority. I didn't bother with any more than that. I know what would've happened and we would have gone in circles until I ran out of breath. I've just lost patience with it here now, I've had a couple of good job interviews recently but I keep coming second or 3rd closest to getting the job; which is just adding to my frustrations.

I used to have black rims with a chrome lip, they look very nice on black cars. </somewhat useless comment>

Would it have been too cheeky to point out that the Victorians have the whole day as public holiday? :P

Work , or promises of work are dissolving before I get to them. Recession bites.

But then I get to spend more time at home...

Who the fudge keeps putting me on home visits on a Wednesday? They know I have teaching on a Wednesday afternoon, attendance is mandatory, and if I turn up late, there's no lunch left either.

The primary care trust.

Just had an email inquiring whether I'd like to pay NHS pension contributions for the six months I worked in one surgery, having left there three months ago! This is the same company that couldn't pay me the correct amount and then wanted the same documents all over again (the ones that they took multiple photocopies of) for the department that was physically next door (same building, same floor, rooms next to each other).

What a bunch of [LIFTED].

I'm sure I've been paying pension contributions (or they've been underpaying me by the exact amount).

So, yesterday I was told I'm photographing an awards giving event from 1.30pm to 6.30pm.
Problem is, I'm being given one of the awards.
And now it's become apparent I'm going to have not only photograph, but video the final award of the day.
And then in the evening, go to a friend's 30th and guess what... take photos.
So now I'm worrying about not enough light in these dingey conference centres that means the flash is going to be working over time - would take a couple of proper flash heads but they'll be popping constantly as Uncle Charlie in the audience uses his point n shoot to try and snap the nephew (IR triggered heads sadly).

I just don't want to do it. But it's for work. Balls.

Dear HMRC and DWP,

Either of you individually would qualify for the award of Competence-free Zone of the Year 2011.

Nonetheless, when combined you are, without doubt, the most useless, abortive, dysfunctional, uncouth, artless, obfuscatory, Byzantine set of petty, small-minded, short-sighted, hypocritical, penny-pinching, cold-hearted, no-talent ass-clowns it has ever been the world's misfortune to encounter.

I know that my paltry income falls well below the qualifying threshold for the Super-Dooper £6bn Vodafone Discount. However, that should not provide grounds for my being treated like faecal matter. You send me intimidating letters, take my wife's dole money without explanation and leave us both on the breadline for ~£200 that I don't owe!

I earnestly hope that each and every one of you receives in an abundance of dark nightmares the fullest measure of the nefarious misery you so freely hand out to others.

+1
