OK, another candid comment from the diminutive French president. This time about Benjamin Netenyahu:

Quote:
French President Nicolas Sarkozy called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a "liar" in remarks to US President Barack Obama overheard by journalists.

"I can't see him anymore, he's a liar," Mr Sarkozy said in French.

"You may be sick of him, but me, I have to deal with him every day," Mr Obama replied.

Reading between the lines, Obama may find Netenyahu troubling too (I bet the list of people who don’t find him awkward is quite short). Anyway, points to Sarkozy.

I think he's a complete c*ck.

That little stunt with Angela Merkel on stage - ridiculing Berlusconi - the other week was all very amusing, but it revealed a pitiable lack of character in the pair of them.

I guess, but then I wonder how I'd act having to deal with Berlusconi on a day to day basis where we had to sort out more than just how much money to spend on the ladies for the evening. :D

Nope. They blew any credibility by continuing to build settlements, thereby sabotaging any chance of a peaceful resolution.

News last night showed them training for a potential war with Iran.

Given that Iran has vowed to wipe Israel off the face off the map, and that there's recent evidence to suggest that they're developing nukes (I've no idea how reliable that evidence is), I can't blame Israel for preparing for the worst.

Hells, if I was a country close to Israel (I know they are separated by other countries) I would want nukes...

This has wandered off topic rather hasn't it....

Iran (& Syria probably) are always going to want some sort of nuclear capacity because it's widely believed Israel has nuclear weapons of some sort. They will neither confirm nor deny it and they've never tested any (they have done something that looked like one, but nobody knows for sure) but the general consensus is they are there and they'd use them at last resort.

If I was surrounded by nuke capable countries, or nuke capable armies based in those countries, I'd want them too.

When the oil runs out in 50 years, the Americans will have no reason to care and will just nuke the whole middle east into a great glass disc. Problem solved ;)
