I keep getting this error message. I've had it before and it spontaneously resolves but no idea why it happens. I was able to reply to the film thread but not the star trek one.

I've had that a few times, normally when I'm trying to post one of the more obscure text characters.

I always get it if I try to post an extended character. It means there is no Pi on this board, for example.
If you're copy-pasting text from somewhere, it's often not obvious which character it is. Sometimes it's something like a none-breaking space or hard return for example. The way to check is paste it into Notepad first, where any "funny" characters should jump out at you.

I copied a youtube comment and tried to paste it into the thread. That's what was causing the problem - typing everything instead of copy'n'paste worked fine. Had a look in Word and there's a character after the word 'risk' which I think was the issue:

Probably the "end of line" as it appeared on Youtube?

I've got a FF plug-in that minimises the chances, Clear Text or something? On the PS3 at the moment...

I suppose it's not usually a big deal, but I don't understand why it affects this board and not most other phpBBs. Makes posting maths and Japanese impossible without making it into an image.
