Aye, we need much snow.

Yep - it'd lower the pension bill.

3", pah, that's a dusting.

Last year the A45 shut because of 5cm of snow and Heathrow was totally buggered.

The same day I flew to Leipzig-Altenburg (where the plane nearly slid off the end of the runway) and then was driven to the Ore Mountains where there was 4' of snow. The Germans just took it in their stride.

I was so bloody embarrassed

I know, if only the rest of the whiners in the UK realised how Europe mocks us...

A very snowy winter would be perfect.

However

We can only hope.

The thought of snow, or more likely where I am, ice fills me with dread.
That means salt on the road that'll eat my car, or alternatively bugger all traction.
Which given how much fun my car can be in the wet if you're not paying attention on the hills and bends, is going to make the commute an absolute hoot.
(Sets about loading as much weight into the boot as possible)

Worse than the reaction to snow is the reaction to mist or even light fog. Suddenly everyone has their foglights on even though there's visibility for over 200 yards!

Although I replaced my Desire HD with it the more I look at the dimensions of the HTC Sensation the more I don't see it as a direct replacement. In my mind the Sensation replacaces/upgrades the Desire and the Sensation XL is the more natural sucessor to the HD.

Got the winter tyres on my car, so I am ready, whatever the winter brings...

Saying that, we could do with some rain here. We've had one day of light showers since the beginning of October... :?

Have to do a presentation for an interview. The topic is Exceeding Customer Expectations in Projects and Service Delivery. I'm going to base my presentation on the subheading Can You Do Too Much?

That's right - I'm going into an interview and intend on explaining to the panel why you SHOULDN'T exceed customer expectations.

Sounds a bit mental when I think about it.

No sounds very interesting and with a solid premise. I'd like to hear more when you have time.

If you are interested I'll write up my thoughts when I get chance but in the meantime thought I'd report that they bloody lapped it up! I thought I was on to something once I'd put the presentation together but wasn't expecting one of the managers to sit there and say 'I agree with every word you said Phil.'

Having two interviews on the same day I thought was bad but actually being able to use the same presentation was a stroke of luck.

I'm just glad to have had some good interviews to be honest after some clearly biased and disastrous internal Council interviews knocked my confidence for a while.
