Give that the opposite is completely unaffordable, their position does make sense.

Well they can hardly afford to bank roll their chums in the city if they go maintaining the pensions that people have been paying for all this time, can they?

I’m just waiting to see who in the cabinet gets some rather nice consultancy jobs in the finance industry after their political career is over.
