Well it's nearly here and I'm starting one. Please discuss anything to do with Christmas from presents to ideas for lunch I'm thinking of getting a freeview + box for my Mum for Xmas. She's not bothered about HD (bad eyesight). The one I'm looking at is the 320gb Humax box. Any opinions much appreciated. C

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I got it as an early present but I have the Humax HD recorder which is an amazing piece of kit. It has some very nice little touches such as grouping all series linked programmes into their own folder so they are easier to find. It replaced my old Humax box which is very old and has given up. You won't regret buying any of their gear.

I am actually feeling a bit excited about Xmas this year, I have been doing some bits of shopping already, have bought for Mum and Dad, Beth and Simon want vouchers, still waiting to hear about nephews, but Grandmother (who is the difficult one) is done and I have ideas for difficult F-i-L and his wife so things are actually feeling a bit together. We bought our tree, a live one and I've re-potted it into a bigger pot for onward growth, we're not decorating it this weekend though, it'll be next weekend I should think.
For dinner I'm doing goose and venison for the first time, we've got my parents over for Xmas eve, day and boxing day so hopefully it'll be pretty relaxed and having it in our new house will be exciting.

Forcing myself to enjoy it this year, very hard for a grumpy. It's working though, Christmas Market in Brugges soon, presents all sorted and some of them wrapped already. Ham is on order for the Christmas meal and trying to sort out dates to catch up with some old friends. Just need it to snow now.
