Yes, but his appearance as the doctor was in an American production in which the killed off Sylvester McCoy's doctor. It wasn't that great although I gather McGann's Doctor was rather more popular in audio episodes.

The McGann Doctor was supposed to be a pilot for a new series of Who. I'm rather glad it didn't go any further. While I think McGann would have made for a good Doctor, I don't think the various premises they we laying down were going to do the franchise any favours.

McGann did make a good Doctor. The audio shows are at least as good as the telly shows, in my opinion. Imagination makes for scarier monsters, too.

Mr McG earned his place in the canon with those, in my opinion.

Audio != canon. However, it seems that some are regarded as such unofficially by the TV makers.
