Could be as something as simple as ear wax. Could be something as severe as brain tumour. It's not lupus!

FWIW I've diagnosed a few diabetics who had no symptoms at all and one just felt a bit more tired than usual! We can all have occasional dips in blood sugar so not diagnostic.

Are glucides french for glucose or carbohydrates? At any rate, I'd advise the low GI diet.

Unlucky about the diagnosis of diabetes. Make sure you take metformin once a day for at least five days. Standard treatment is three times a day and you build it up from once a day.

Taking blood sugars etc are okay but HbA1c shows your trend over the last 3-4 months and I'd rely more on this as an indicator. Charts are useful if you are on insulin.

Risk factors are far more important as you're at higher risk of strokes, heart attacks etc. make sure blood pressure and cholesterol are under control. Depending on your age, general health, and your blood test results, you could come off metformin if you lose enough body fat, exercise and ear properly.

Im not worried about the diagnosis, in fact im relieved as now I know why I have been feeling like this.
Ive been told to take the metformin one a day for a week before raising it to twice a day. Im having another blood test in the new year to see how im doing. Though it was nice being told by the pharmasist when I went to get my prescription that it was free! And also im having an eye test next week.

Its just a bitch being told to reduce high sugary foods and alcohol (not that I drink that much but its the principle!!) intake just before chrimbo!!!! a def diabetes FTMFL

Yes but the opportunity to legally kill someone with a giant dildo does not happen every day.

chances are its not an eye test as in a vision test, it's a retinopathy test. They're checking your retinas for damage to the fine blood vessels caused by diabetes changing your blood chemistry.

Two things

1) Get someone to give you a lift home. You will not be able to see your hand in front of your face for a couple of hours. Even public transport is out - you won't be able to see bus numbers or tell whether you should get off yet or not.

2) Take some sunglasses. Even if it cloudy. You'll need them.
