Folks

I need to do some application testing on an Intranet ( how various page elements perform etc ) the companies standard browser is .... yes you guessed it IE8 so are there equivalents to Firebug & Yslow for IE8?

If I have to go and have an argument around portable FF I will but I suspect I'll loose that one and the machines are seriously locked down so chances of sneaking it in are remote.

Any thoughts?

Not sure it's what you're after as it seems you can't install software, but ietester has a debug bar. You might be able to add that to ie8. Anyway, it's somewhere to start!

You can now get Google page-speed online: http://code.google.com/speed/page-speed/

Will this do instead of YSlow?

IE8 has Developer Tools, (F12) don't know if that'll be any use as I've never really used it so can't tell you what it does
