This might sound a bit obvious but two solutions spring to mind. She should be able to buy a cheap PAYG 'phone, (or even just a SIM card) when she gets there or maybe log onto a PC in an Internet Cafe and send you an email. Or am I missing something?

JV, that's actually a sensible idea.
Most contracts let you use your phone abroad anyway

I missed this this morning...
I'll talk to her tonight about it, hopefully she'll have a few Euro's spare to get one...She's currently on PAYG, so I expect it would be expensive to use her current phone?
I fully expect her to be off having fun anyway. I remember the days when you went on holiday and maybe called home to see how the house was if you happened to be walking past a phone box, and even then you'd probably not.

A PAYG sim abroad will only cost a couple of euro's. Although let her enjoy herself whilst you get leathered with the lads.

We will on Sunday. There's a vintage commercial vehicle rally on Sunday, so I'm hoping the weather will be okay. Lots of diesel and shiny paint. Mmmm-mm.

No problem. At least your comment cheered me up. My first genuine smile this morning.
