Hacker group claims they have documentation of backdoors into handsets from Apple, Nokia and RIM.

This is from the same group that stole the Symantec AV source code last week. As of now, there is no confirmation that the documents are damning, but it is something that RIM faced last year, they were given several deadlines to open up their encryption to the Indian government or their services would be banned in India. The story quietly died, when RIM said publicly that they couldn't break the encryption and the Indian government didn't react.

I’m also automatically wary of backdoor stories. They’re not new and are almost always sensationalist nonsense without a shred of proof. If I believed them all, I’d never touch an electronic gadget every again!
