Our company is considering the move to Lion 10.7 this year - well, we need to update our software and that has a knock-on effect as some of our hardware is still PowerPC G5s, so some new iMacs are having to be bought.

Anyway, there are all sorts of hidden costs associated with that, such as font management (our older Suitcase Fusion won't be compatible for example so will need the latest Fusion 3). Older versions of software that we have are PowerPC so will also need upgrading too.

Anyway, can anyone tell me what the situation is with using Postscript fonts under Lion 10.7 - do they work, are there any issues, etc? I can't find a definite answer anywhere so I thought I'd ask the question to those of you that have already upgraded to 10.7. I seem to remember reading something about Postscript fonts not being compatible with Lion 10.7 at the launch, but I can't remember if I imagined that!

Our old font collection is pretty much all Postscript so if this is a problem, then we'll have to factor in a replacement library of fonts - something which will no doubt cause a problem with the boss - this might even put the whole job on hold for now as my budget is so tight, so as you can imagine it's critical that I get this right!

So, I'm after advice from anyone using Postscript fonts in the real world under Lion (or not!). Anyone?

That's great, my boss will be pleased he doesn't have to shell out for that again. Some of our fonts are that old they originally came on over 200 floppy disks, I'm guessing from the early 1990s!!
Thanks for confirming that!
:P

I was looking at my font folder the other day and some of them have creation dates of '89!
