I had one of those a few weeks back. I humoured her for a while, (which version of Windows do you run? WIndows 8. You mean Windows 7? No, Windows 8...) and so on, then I got bored so I went into full, (pretend) panic mode, saying, (or shouting) that "The screen has gone blue and there's white writing on it! What does Fatal Error mean? Now it's turned black and there's a big white skull and crossbones on the screen, and it's laughing at me! OH GOD! Now there's smoke coming out of the back! AAARRRGGGHHH It's on fire! Gotta go!" Then I hung up. I did also answer one call with a flat denial that I own a computer, claiming that it's against my religion to own the devilish machine.

I've probably mentioned before the call I had claiming my Windows PC had a virus to which I had them confirm many times it's a Windows PC. After a while I let them know I use a Mac to be met with an "oh.... you have a Mac?"

Why does everything take so long when you're in a rush?
Not having a working 64 bit copy of Windows to hand, I'm trying to get Mythbuntu onto a USB stick to test, rather than wasting a CD... cos they're so expensive (sarcasm) but this is taking a [LIFTED] age, and I want to go to bed!

Who would you vote to sing the Olympics OP ? http://www.the-top-tens.com/lists/singe ... monies.aspI love that list! Number One is Miku which is just fantastic. Incredibly fantastic. Wow. I'm quite a big fan of some of the Korean bands on there who are famous across most of Asia, but impressed to see so many in the top ten. Rammstein at number 10. Have to say, I would not be unhappy if that came to be Of course, this list is meaningless. I never even heard about it until today. Shame though - I like the way it's shaping up

Fingers crossed the boiler has been sorted. Our plumber is sound, I asked how long he thought it had left on it and he said he didn't like changing things for changes sake and should be ok for a while as there are so few parts to it it won't ever be a major expense to fix. Nice to have an honest plumber. Only charged a call out fee as he only cleaned it up a bit and tightened a thermocouple nut - the flame was yellow and flickering last night before it went off, now it's a nice blue. Anyhoo, hopefully it'll keep going now - it's lasted longer than at any point since it went mental last night.

But the sender's first name may actually be 'Wayne'. Or at least that's what it sounds like.
