OK, so I went to update my current location on Facebook, only to discover it doesn't exist, nor does my home town, or even most major English cities. In fact, the only places I can find in the United Kingdom which I can set as either my current location or home town are London and Manchester.

Can someone else check their Facebook and see if they get the same issue? :?

There were very few UK towns on there when I last looked. There was a Northampton group called something like "We're not b!oody London!"

The last time I checked there were the smallest of towns available to be chosen, but no longer it seems. A bizarre choice on the part of Facebook. :?

Go in to your profile > About > Living > then edit it. You just put in your location and Fb should pick it up on the map.
I usually have difficulty with Blackburn, but Fb picked it up no problem.
I just checked and it even recognises a little tiny village outside Blackburn, so I'd assume anywhere would be picked up.

Strangely when I do it it doesn't recognise anywhere but Manchester or London, maybe I'll try another browser. :?

Nope, still nothing. I can't pull up anywhere I've lived, at all, and if I type "United Kingdom" I get the choice of Manchester or London. I can't even save what I enter as free text :|

OK just for giggles I've now tried it on a tablet (via the browser), a Windows PC (various browsers, including IE), a Linux box & even an Ubuntu Live CD; I get the same problem on each, it can't be a local issue, the issue must be Facebook's end.

I have submitted a bug report in the vain hope that the problem might actually get fixed.

It works for me. I've tried:

  • Various Browsers
  • Various OSes
  • Various Computers
  • Various Broadband Connections in various Houses

All working.
