If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

:) Cheers Jim.
I was doing some printing in the dark room today, and I was gutted when I realised I'd shot that one digitally.

Why? Surely a good pic is a good pic, regardless of format. (8+/

Because I wanted the fun of hand printing it to go with the other hand made prints I'm giving them as a thank you. This one'll have to made in Photoshop and via an inkjet.
Just a little less meaningful, in my mind, than something I've spent time on judging exposure and controlling contrast.

I do that with all my digital images.
Sometimes I think your fawning over wet photography blinds you to the real issue of the final product.
Don't get me wrong, I admire your dedication to wet photography, but for me the end result is always about the final image, not how it was captured.
As you were.

Indeed, it is all about the final image, and the dark room is a huge part of arriving at that image.
Would you rather be given a unique, hand made item or something that's endlessly reproducible?
That's the crux of the matter for me - I wanted to give them something unique as a thank you so I'll choose to do that with a hand made wet print.
She's making unique hand made pieces of art, so it seems right to do the same as a thank you.
