Except I was coming back from grammar school

I used to watch it after coming back from grammar school but before I set off for kickboxing lessons. My dad was a stickler for making sure we were well hydrated before going but hated us gulping it down. Hence we had to sit there and slowly sip 300mls of water over about fifteen minutes (the quickest we could get away with). Because he was watching st:tng, we had to watch it whilst sipping. I slowly started to enjoy it and regularly watched it. By no means a trekkie/trekker and I know I haven't watch all the episodes.

The most memorable for me is the two parter finale.

The zoo I used to work at is about to be on The One Show.
Interesting.

Best of Both Worlds is the best episode, absolutely fantastic and forerunner for First Contact; the best TNG-era feature film.

Ooh I remember that, and the subsequent issues questioning whether Picard had ever recovered from his contact with the Borg.

Also loved the Worf/Mogh storyline and the Data-centric episodes.

I didn't enjoy the ones set in the past/holodeck as much.

All the ones with Alexander Worf in. Wes or Bev Crusher-heavy episdoes. Any scene containing arguments between Diana Troy and her mum. Anything involving Picard acting like he's in A Midsummer Night's Dream.


Avoid these, and it's a pretty good series.

Over the last few days I've read up on quite a few ST:TNG, DS9 and SG1 episodes. For ST:TNG BoBW is certainly up there as one of the best. Personally I do prefer SG1, probably because of the steady progression of tech and that it is based here and now (well then I suppose).

One of my favourite scenes is when Data is talking to Polanski about his name. "One of them is my name and the ither is not."

Bloody americans.

DS9 had too many annoying characters, the barman, the annoying Romulan, that liquid face guy who looked like a burn victim. Also strip away the lasers and it was a really bland soap opera... the journey/adventure thing is the whole reason I like Star Trek, and the only one that at times approached that feeling of wonder (after TNG) was Voyager for me, though that ran out of storylines fast.

When they're on the high-number Sky channels, I'm tempted to watch the original and TNG, but none of the others.

I always thought that they should have done a series based around the USS Defiant - covert ops, recon, skirmishing, cross-border raiding, rescue missions etc.

The effects budget would have to be too high.

My electrolysis experiment appears to be successful.

Cool, Best of Both Worlds is 86.7% 'legally purchased', I might give it a watch after Masterchef

I liked many aspects of it and actually nearly bought the box set, but in the end it always felt like a poor-man's B5.

Still waiting for B5 on BD

I liked DS9. Good characters.

I found DS9 improved when Sisko started shaving his head.
