I was a little (a lot) taken aback by that too. Gorgeous. The end was a little RTD for me too. But to be honest, I'm a sucker for that anyway. Although, with every passing special I feel more and more like him, just without the ability to travel through time. Except nobody sets a place for me every year in case I still always remember the seen with Wilf and Dave in the cafe where Wilf, talking about Donna to the Doctor says, "She's making do." And the reply comes, "Aren't we all." That hit me then, and it still does now.

That's almost as believable as a Phantom Menace set.

LOL her English is great, but her pronunciation is very amusing in places. A combination of Eaton English, Americanism and pure phonetics. "I bow to them" - twang She's awesome. She even plays the nose flute. What more could anyone ask for in a girl? One thing I don't understand though. It's smaller on the inside than it is on the outside - how did she do that?

She looked a bit older than that photo when she was in Spooks. Still very attractive though. However is there any precedent for actors who have already been in Who becoming assistants?
Thinking about it, if she does, she'll have played a Who Assistant and Lady Penelope. That puts her somewhere beyond the UK Scifi event horizon.

It seems that, generally speaking these days, “TARDIS Totty” is played by relative unknowns (with the exception of Catherine Tate and Billie Piper who was, at the time for me, an unknown acting quantity). I would suggest that someone who is that well known is unlikely to “knock boots” with the Doctor for a long term stint. I would think that the BBC will be looking for someone less well known (read: cheap) to “keep the Doctor’s slippers warm”.
