It's nice not to see the finger.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

For those who are interested:
The first row sports link is showing the BBC coverage of the race, albeit with American ad breaks.

The #4 link on firstrow is showing the Sky coverage, sans adverts. Some of the other links were in Spanish etc. so at least we can choose our commentary.

Well, I forgot to put my predictions up for the Malaysian GP... but I don't think it matters as I wouldn't have scored any points anyway.

Oh, I dunno, You might have managed a couple or three. It was an enjoyable race, despite Button's misfortune, and I don't mean just because Vettel finished outside the points either. Although, it was interesting to see his affable, happy-go-lucky mask slip a little - not having a hundred point lead or the best car seems to focus the mind a bit. What I saw of Christian Horner in the Forum confirmed the same of him too. I want to see them struggle this year, it builds character. I thought Perez was properly quick in those conditions, and clearly I'd much rather he won than Alonso. Hamilton had a pretty uneventful race, which is probably a blessing for him. It's the first time I've considered Bruno Senna as anything other than a no-mark trading on his uncle's name - he looked pretty decent. Force India had a better time of it too - both scoring points. Poor old Maldonado, final lap retirement in Aus, and a pen-ultimate lap retirement yesterday. He must be gutted - the car is looking competitive too. Aw well, three weeks 'till China.

I thought Perez was amazing although I held my breath when he went off. I thought he'd blown it then.

I thought it was a good weekend racing, loving the Sky Coverage which included F2 coverage.
As predicted the Mercedes were super fast in Qualifying thanks to their F-Duct DRS system. Pants in race trim with one DRS zone and the car not being good in the corners to be behind anybody to use the bloody thing....

I thought (from what I've read) that the duct at the rear was partially open on a full time basis. So it has most effect in a DRS zone or during qualifying, but also has an increasing effect relative to speed all of the time. I think it is a really innovative solution. Now it seems to have passed scrutiny I think it will be fine tuned, copied and improved through the season.

Holes in the endplates on the rear wing are exposed when the wing is opened (DRS activated) channeling air through a complex system of channels to the front wing. This air flow is used to stall the front wing hence the "F-Duct" term as a similar system for stalling the rear wing was used by teams a couple of years ago. So a reverse system of the original F-Duct reducing drag and increasing top speed but only effective when DRS is active... magic

I've certainly read somewhere that the rear wing duct openings are never fully shut. If so I wonder if it is to help it pass scrutiny.

Chinese race this morning.
No spoilers but I must say that's probably the best race I've seen for a few seasons.
Well worth getting up to see and I'd recommend watching the rerun.
