After being delayed for quite some time before MGM's finances were straightened out, it looks like all systems are a go for the reboot of ROBOCOP, following the casting of THE KILLING's Joel Kinnaman for the title role.

Jose Padilha's film now has a firm release date, with Sony announcing August 9, 2013 for the new ROBOCOP to begin serving and protecting theatres once again. So mark that one down on your calendars, boys and girls. I know we're quite interested to see if this is going to work out as one terrible idea or a revival of a once cool series.

Who's buying this for a dollar?

At this point they may as well have another crack at it, but they'll just never be able to capture that crazy genius again. Bitches, leave!

Paul Verhoeven did a great job on many films, and a re-boot just won't manage to recreate what he did 25 years ago regardless of the amount of CGI and 3D they throw at it.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

We have actually reached the point in our culture where all the stories that can be told, have been told.
And now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get back to writing my Aliens vs Predator vs Zombies screenplay and it's sequel, Zombie Aliens vs Zombie Predator in Space.
Also look out for Zombie Were-Vampire Movie.
