I do the odd national sweepstake at work and might buy a lottery ticket once a year.

I'm actually a qualified croupier and used to work in London's West End. Still have my gaming license so no I don't gamble. I know how much the tables cleared every night when we used to cash up!

Place your bets please place your bets! *spins wheel*

Oldie - seen it before though can't remember the scene. I was trained in roulette and hadn't yet moved to cards. I left after about a year to get a day job. Had lots of interviews mainly because people wanted to know what it's like to work in a casino. Didn't get a job until I changed CV to 'temporary work' on advice of an agency.

Nobosy who has any knowledge of maths beyond counting on their fingers should gamble. Unless you're doing it professionally.

I have in the past had a small bet on football for fun with friends and like to pick a horse for the Grand National. I've never gambled seriously. I used to play online poker quite a bit but for the fun of the game rather than trying to make money. I've spent probably £30 on poker since 2004 and I think I've still got a tenner in my account but don't play any more.

Other than that I might rarely buy a lottery ticket or stick a couple of quid in a fruit machine on the very rare occasion I'm actually in a pub.

Thats why the only bets I placed I knew I would get a profitable return (except where it was to qualify for a free bet, even then for a £50 free bet I would 'lose' about £4 on the betting)

Only people who can spell should be allowed to roam the 'net.

I play lottery or scratch cards a couple times a year.
I used to play a large amount of online poker. My biggest win was 175USD. I know people who play poker has a full time job, however you have to be really good to earn more than minimum wage that way.

Fairly regularly, I went to the casino this week infact. Nothing massive, I took $100 with me, got up to $300 with a couple of lucky spins on the roulette wheel and went home. To me I don't do it to get rich, it's the same as spending money on a movie ticket or anything else, it's simply the entertainment value. I'll set an amount I'm going to take and if I come out with the same or more then it's been a good day!

At the casino I'll generally play Blackjack or roulette, sometimes poker but you need around $200 to buy-in so it's not cheap.

I'll occassionally buy a scratchcard (or scratchie as they call them here) and I play in the Australian Poker League when I can although that's just a free league with cash prizes for the tournaments.
