That's a big blockbuster film. What about trailers for the small budget films? You've got to start somewhere.
Hell I've seen better trailers done by fans on youtube.

Obi, I've not seen the trailer but that's the kind of thing I would expect - a sample of the film, maybe who is in it, I'd even allow something that outlines the whole plot eg revenge, crime, military etc. What I don't want is to have to close my eyes and shut my ears because of spoilers in trailers.

Out of interest, can we establish what a 'spoiler' is?

What about the smaller budget films? They'll still be an investment of ~£3million. And yes, you'll still be getting someone who's considered a reasonably safe pair of hands.
Put it this way - someone I was in university with (I left c. 2000) is still with the same post-production house he joined straight after uni. He's just become an edit assistant, and we're only talking about a place that does commercials and a bit of telly.

That they show a couple of clips from the big scenes is really nothing to complain about when there is so much else to see in the complete article. A trailer cannot raise any of the possible emotions a decent full length movie can, and if you think that seeing a certain character or outfit spoils a film then you probably have more important issues to worry about, or perhaps need to watch a better quality movie.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

It's showing a particular character being attacked in a particular hallway by the villain, for instance, that ruins a film's intent for a lot of people, you recognise that scene and it lessens the impact. Crap for a horror film or thriller, especially one that might be struggling as is... There are of course fillms where it'll make no difference too, or even the trailer can't help!
