Thanks Davros
@Rusty yeah, pretty much a forgone conclusion. He was heralded as the new president the day after Wolff stepped down. It was almost a formality, once most of the parties had accepted him.

Condolences to you and your girlfriend Dave. I hope she's OK. They say it's supposed to be easier if the person is ill and you expect it but after losing my Dad last year I don't think that at all.
Hope the funeral goes as planned.
C

Sorry to hear your bad/sad news Dave, and although it's a bit late in the day to say this now, the only thing you can do is be there for your girlfriend, and kids.

Thanks everybody.
I viewed the open coffin on Saturday afternoon. That is the first time I've ever seen an open coffin! I wasn't sure what I was going to see, or how I would react, but the funeral home had done a great job, she looked "healthy" and peaceful. It certainly helped my girlfriend who was in the hospital when she died and had a very bad "last image" of her mother.
The funeral was yesterday afternoon. Very emotional affair.
After the funeral, we went back to the mother's house for coffee and cake.
She had a big family!

Apologies. I'll try and have a doubly miserable day tomorrow so you can have a happy day

Anything to do with sicknote? I'm thinking maybe you should start your own thread as your morning musings are quite amusing (see what I did there?) Try and have a good one anyway

Thanks. I'm fine. Had a fight with one of those stupid posts that blocks parking spaces. Car park was dark and it was very late and I was very tired so the passenger side wing is damaged. Bf is not amused. Well neither was I but he doesn't have to remind me every bloody 5 minutes lol

How did you guess? He actually said, meaning it, "bloody hell, Thursday already, this week is flying". He also tried nit-picking my work - the work I shouldn't have to do, but was left no choice because he thought it necessary to down the customary two bottles of vodka at the weekend. I lost it earlier, and ripped into him (verbally); so he's gone a bit sheepish now. No doubt he'll have a two hour lunch break, then come back with cream cakes; which will make it all better, in his eyes. I will. Thank you

Umm it was a wild one granted. So does sicknote have a name or should we make one up? There could be a poll involved here. Luckly I don't have a colleague that really gets on my nerves but oh my god some of the users are such idiots! Cream cakes sounds good. We have a cake club here where people bake, brings it in and we eat it. But so far only myself and one other guy has baked but everyone else is happy to eat. I see a flaw here.

I think I'll call him The p!ss-artist, formally known as Sicknote. At least make the tight-ar$ed gits cough up for the ingredients!

Plan HatchingWelcome to our newly hatched plan: Those ^ are 12 fertilised Chocolate Brown Indian Runner Duck eggs ready to be incubated. We hatched a plan and brought it to fruition in the space of about 16 hours We started talking last night over a bottle of wine, about how we wanted to get more chickens...and ducks, so we started looking around at the different ducks available and Lo! on preloved, Mr Red found a lady in Nuneaton selling week old ducklings of the abovenamed variety but also selling fertilised hatching eggs for only £1 each. We concocted a plan involving a homemade incubator, worked out what bits we'd need to make it work and this morning we leapt (well, Red grumbled) into action and managed to get everything we'd need. Now we have the eggs, we've seen the ducklings and we're going to spend this afternoon/evening building the incubator and getting the temp stable ready for the eggs to go in tomorrow. It should be about 25 days from then that they hatch and then we'll have baby duckies! All very exciting
