Just been to see it. First reaction is... Did I miss something really obvious in the trailers? The ending was like... W... T... A... F... I can't have missed THAT! If I didn't miss anything then it was a kind of random twist. --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?2313eg

Twist? I was thinking more that... <possible spoiler> ...it didn't line up as well with the beginning of Alien as I was expecting.</possible spoiler> It was freakin awesome though!

There's going to be another Prometheus film, so it won't line up yet.

Yeah, read that last night after posting. But it looked so close up until the final 5 minutes. And tbh, do we really need another one? It was fantastic, but there's been a whole bunch of movies in this universe already.

It was always devised as a two-part prequel, so weather we need one or not, I suspect the story that Ridley and Damon want to tell with the second one will be just as necessary as this one is to the original film. Mark

I can't believe I went to the cinema on the day this was released and didn't see it. Went to see a Danish film in Danish without Danish or English subtitles instead. It was an historical romance (chick flick).

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Right, well somebody wants to mention that to the cinema-going public and not just you nerds, so we can adjust our expectations accordingly. Have you seen it yet Mark?

It was widely reported at the start of production of Prometheus - widely reported for about a day. Since then it's hardly been mentioned at all. It's still the plan though. Ridley mentioned the second film in an interview recently. Mark

Well some of us were skiing, or living on a sub-tropical island. And some of us just like to go and enjoy movies, without having to read all about them before we go. It's a fairly crucial point I would've said. I'll be interested to hear what you think of the 3D. I found it to be not as good as Avengers, maybe on a par with Avatar.

Your veiled attempt to say I don't have a life not withstanding, you might be quite shocked to hear that I have read hardly anything about this film until the past week or so, and I haven't seen any of the promotional material for the film aside from a trailer and the TED talk. I only watched the talk because I heard it's not actually part of the film. So, now you've seen the film I guess you can go and carry on with you life, which sounds so much more awesome than mine. Even I've seen it and I thought Alien jumped the shark about half way through Aliens. Google?

Yes. Yes I have. I never saw Avengers Assemble in 3D. I think the best way to see a good film in 3D, is to make sure it's a good film, and hope the film-makers don't pander to the 3D treatment. That's what this film did, and as such, it's the best 3D film I've seen. I saw Avatar, Alice in Wonderland, TRON :Legacy and now Prometheus in 3D. Mark

My life is only as awesome as I make it at any given time and I never meant that yours was not. However, the fact that you even knew there was a TED talk indicates you were in the loop on the film beyond the casual cinema-goer (which is what I consider myself to be at the moment). I didn't find out about that until the very end of the credits where a Weyland Corp logo and URL is displayed. Glad you enjoyed it though. I think the difference in my 3D experiences could be attributed to the fact that I saw Avengers in Copenhagen in a huge screen and Prometheus in a much smaller local screen. Prometheus seemed to suffer from excessive darkness in the corners of the screen. However, the way it was employed was superb - I would agree.
