My sister's wedding is impending and she wants the men to wear the same colour tie as the bridesmaid dresses. It's some weird turquoise blue colour (she wanted bright colours!). Anyway, she's struggled to find matching ties - just wrong shade/colours.
So is there a place that could colour match ties? We would need around 5-10 of them and they need to be fairly cheap (only wearing them for one day).
Ideas?

http://www.thecravatcompany.co.uk/ties.htm might be worth a try? Otherwise all I can think of is getting the fabric used for the dresses and finding a handy tailor who can run you up a set of ties...

I looked at them but £350 for ties is gonna be expensive. I hadn't thought of a tailor.

Has she tried Tierack? If it is a colour that is in season, the should have it for cheap. Maybe not monochrome but maybe with a pattern. just saying

Certainly expensive for a tie that, by the sound of it, you'll only ever wear once. Jon

We've tried looking at patterned ties but again, the colour match is way off. The closest we have is a black tie with a range of turquoisey coloured floral pattern on it. It's not something we really want and it comes in a set of two for £12 so we would end up with five ties we could use and five we couldn't.
She's been round all the usual haunts and is starting to panic.

Surely someone in the family has a sowing machine? Here's a pattern: http://pukingpastilles.com/wp-content/u ... attern.pdf

On a similar note: I found a really nice suit in Asda yesterday, but I couldn't find a really nice shirt/tie combo to go with it.

My mother could do it since she's a seamstress but the issue then becomes finding the right materials/colour and time!

Can't you just use the material the dresses were made from? Or did she ordered the dresses ages ago and only just decided she wanted matching ties..?

Said by a man who's never been married or had an immediate contemporary female relative marry. Say that to my sister and she will rip your balls off. The dress material isn't really suitable for a tie material. It's too thin for starters. She had the dresses done back in March and has spent months looking for cheap matching ties. +1. Said by a man who likes his balls. Tried them but the colours are way off. I've emailed the cravat company. They suggested ordering a swatch set. I replied asking to come down in person with the fabric rather than rely on the postal service but I've had no response since. They seem to be based around Leicester which is only 45 mins (or less) away from me and I don't mind going up to get an order if it means my sister will be happy.
