I used a site that shows an image of the original text and then shows in modern type upon mouseover. I then copied out the basic letter forms and practised them, always checking against contemporary documents on the web to make sure I was producing something similar. All I need to do now is get the correct nibs & ink and I'm away - once I decide how I want to glyph the capitals that is Edit: All in all it took me about 5 hours. Well worth it and a hell of a lot faster to learn than Textualis Quadrata (Blackletter), Italic or Uncial. I think the next will have to be Sindarin

Shrapnel is named after a British lieutenant in the Royal Artillery, Henry Shrapnel, who invented a quite nasty load for the cannon.

dug up a gold coloured type glass bottle today, extremely unusual design that has grooves half way round it for blind people and has "NOT TO BE TAKEN" at the top of it

Poison Bottle. I collect them in blue glass. Oh, and the grooves are more for people who might be looking for a medicine bottle in the dark, than specifically for blind people.

My local library and the library in the town centre don't open on Wednesdays. I found that out when I tried to return a book to one, then the other.

From Wiki, I checked it out because the figure they're talking about just arrived : In the Masters of the Universe Classics toy line, further character development was introduced. This line has offered more in depth origins to the Masters of the Universe characters and a collaboration of all origins in attempt to create a new coherent continuity. According to their revised back story, Keldor is Randor's half-brother. Keldor's mother was a member of the Gar race and he was ousted from the royal castle due to his Gar heritage. He roamed Eternia for knowledge, eventually learning the Dark Arts from Hordak. He then sought to unite Eternia by ruling it himself and battle his own brother with his army of fellow misfits. After losing the battle and desperate to survive, he turned to his mentor Hordak who merged Keldor with an entity known as the Demo-Man. Together they formed Skeletor. Goes off to look up Demo-Man...

Ironically, our library is only open on Wednesdays. It comes in a van
