Depends on her contract.
Certainly basic sick pay won't normally kick in until she's been off for 3 days (and I think requires a doctor's note).
I certainly don't get paid sick here.

Three days without pay is what my wife has to put with too.
For me. I get given medication and get back to work. If I were medivaced off the rig, I'd loose out on my day rate from the day I went off.

I'm a Civil Servant so If I'm sick I get double pay, an extra 3 weeks annual leave, a big pension contribution and they send someone round to walk my dogs*
Or so the Daily Mail might have you believe

For some reason that reminded me of this:

If you've been off sick for less than a week, I'm not giving you a sick note. People can self-certify for seven days, and can collect SSP after 4 days.

Wish the bloke next to me would STFU! He's in a very moany and chatty mood today. No I don't need running commentary of the tickets you're getting in or the fact SQL is down

Good for him. My work neighbour is on a conference call now and I'm wired up to Radio 2 so all is good with the world at the moment.

Yeah it doesn't happen enough though, the noise gets too high too often. Downside of an open plan office I guess but it's a PITA when a few loose focus and distract others

Popped into Morrisons on my way back from work tonight. Came back to my car to see this... He left me literally one inch of space, but parked at such an extreme angle so that his back end overlapped the back of my car by at least a foot!! Because of the safety barrier at my right side, the only way I could have got out was if I took his, and my, back bumper off - or swing it to the left and take out his door! What an inconsiderate tw@t of the highest order!! Then, after I asked Morrisons to put out an announcement in store, the @rsehole had the cheek to have a go at me - I was so close to punching the monkey-faced tit!!
