This might be the best thing about the Dredd movie, sadly:

Hmm - so a revisit now may be an interesting one if done in the right tone. What I don’t want to see is a total reworking of the 1984 film. Something new needs to be brought - and I bet it will be a whole load of comment on today’s surveillance society.

Taken 2 trailer

Only watched half of it, might riff on the first too much, but who knows?

Sequels, eh James?

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/56612

You can keep them after that last abomination. Unobtainium perfectly summed up the first film for me.

Really struggling to see Reynolds having the gravitas for Highlander's themes:

Starship Troopers - thought the original was ridiculously overhyped myself:

Now, Peter Berg tells MTV News that he'd love to do a sequel and in the process claims the juggernaut success of "The Avengers" pretty much squashed everything in its path including his naval tentpole.

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/24280/ ... n-avengers

I see. So it wasn’t that the film looked crap and derivative form the trailers then?

Quote:
"The movie kicked butt internationally, but we kind of ran into a wall when 'Avengers' refused to go away. So, what I need everyone to do is go see 'Battleship' now that they've seen 'Avengers' five times. If they do that, we can definitely make a sequel" says Berg.

Good luck with that one.

See above!

And the Battleship thing's laughable. You have to laugh when even the piracy excuse won't cover it.
