Yeah, that's how exciting my life is.
I've an awful feeling you'll be disappointed :(
I've been reading a lot about what was said at Comic Con regarding the next Superman film. I'm still looking forward to it. (8+)

I'll probably catch the trailer on the big screen with TDKR :)

It won't be the full trailer, just a teaser from what I gather.

Do they also do Trailer: The Director's Cut?

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Yeah, the film's quite a way off. I'll settle for whatever it is, I'm absolutely sick of what Matt's somewhat getting at above.

Problem is Mark, as much as I'm with you on it, I'm also with you on Tom Welling. And I fear that'll be a source of disappointment for a few years yet... (8+(

Have you seen this pic of Henry Cavill?
He kind of has the Tom Weeling thing going on. It remains to be seen if he can carry off the role of Supes though.

He reminds me of the Death and Return characterisations, which apparently they looked at.

And I know this is daft, but the images of the suit really bother me so far. I'm hoping it'll be like Thor and look better onscreen. I'm not really sure why everything has to look like old reptile skin these days...

Apparently so.

I know, but it's a reimaging/retelling of the origin story. Apparently it's being treated as though none of the other films ever existed.
I suspect Batman has been an influence in the new costume design.
Think of the bat-suit now compared to the Adam West/Burt Ward TV series Batsuit.
Now think of the redesigned Superman outfit compared to the Christopher Reeve Superman outfit.
In all fairness, if a little of the Batman's cinematic prowess can rub off on this new Superman film, the change in costume design is a small price to pay, in my opinion.

Heh, I'm not actually that keen on the latest Batsuit :) , though, again, it looks better onscreen.

With Supes they knew they'd never get away with spandex, but I think they just went with sheer laziness in terms of design. The standard colours on the sort of material we've seen in recent comic flicks could have worked (leather-type effect). Again though, it won't matter at all if it's shot right

I think it inevitable that superhero costumes undergo change just as normal fashion does. If you are going to reboot a franchise then you might as well do everything. And if you want the costume to be the same as the comic book, then read the comic book.

If you look at modern fabric and printing technology it is clearly much more advanced than that of the 60s. If this technology was available in that era, the illustrators/designers would not have been constrained to using monotone inks and fabrics.

I went to see a film a while back and they had a trailer before it for the film 'Fast Girls'. The 'trailer' was literally 10 minutes long and by the time it was done you pretty much didn't need to see the film any more (not that I'd advise you to anyway, it looked awful).

Which is the precise reason the iconic John Williams theme tune will not be used in this new Supes film.
It's the only bit of news about this film I read that made me (8+(

In the new BSG they went for a new theme tune, but at least they did an homage to the original tune in the final episode. :)

They did in the first - it was a fanfare on the Galactica at the decommissioning ceremony. They also used it a couple of times throughout the series.

Also the flashbacks to "Husker" Adama's past had Cylons in from the original series.

Speaking of which, what happened to Blood and Chrome?
