In short, I don't think we needed or wanted the Olympics and what's came with it

I can't wait until the Olympics leave Cardiff for good. It's gone mad here, and not in a good way.

Police everywhere, security checkpoints, metal detectors, airport-style baggage scanners outside all of the hotels, military helicopters patrolling the airspace over the city. Utter madness.

Remember it was only going to cost 3.5 billion.

And only London taxpayers are contributing for London 2012. Nothing to worry about in Cardiff what so ever.

I did laugh when they claimed it had come in 'under budget' when in fact that turned out to mean 'actually came in four times over what we initially budgeted and even then we spent more than our final budget estimate but we didn't spend all our contingency fund'.

And of course even that didn't include paying all the extra police and armed forces personnel they've suddenly found they need...
