Good Morning all

BAck at home after a dead body on the line just outside slough stopped all the trains

They couldn't just driver over it? It was already dead after all :)

I don't think it was a "jumper" so unfortunatly it becomes a crime scene and Mr Plod gets a bit upset when you drive trains through his crime scene

Sod Mr Plod, if that was a family member, I'd be [LIFTED] livid that they didn't collect their remains before returning the track to service.
One of the best things that happened when I stopped working in London was that I gained a little perspective. I stopped huffing every time there was a death on the track and I was an hour late for work (oh noes!) and actually spared a thought for the family and the poor sod on the track.

And for the poor train driver who either hit it or found it.

The father in law had to deal with a driver that had someone jump once. Don't think he ever got back in the cab.

I suppose I can get my head around somebody wanting to commit suicide but FFS have the courage to do it your self not put some other poor sod in the position of being forced to inadvertently do it for you ! And then have to live with it  </rant>

All credit to Plusnet. The free router they've just given my dad (to replace his non ADSL 2+ router) isn't bad at all.

Thing is, if someone is so far gone that they want to die, it's a fair bet they aren't thinking too clearly; and are probably incapable of fully appreciating the impact it will have on others. If they were, then they probably wouldn't be trying to commit suicide.

Driving in this morning I found myself behind a car with the registration plate 'KI7 TEH'.

I don't do code. I'm a visual designer and trying to work out HTML and CSS usually gives me a fit of the screaming abdabs. I have relied on WYSWYG code creation tools to do the hard stuff for me while I just make it look nice.

However, with some time on my hands, and some decent software that has a lot of learning resources and references built in (Coda 2 if anyone cares), I am actually beginning to make progress. My aim is to rebuild my Imagic Design web site by typing HTML and CSS the old-fashioned way.

At first, I got nowhere fast. Even reverse-engineering the current site turned into an exercise in frustration. This past couple of days, though, it's actually beginning to make some sense to me. What I've actually achieved could well be the sort of stuff a school kid might churn out in few minutes, but I feel I'm actually achieving something positive in my life for once. :)
