The GM will always be applied to the most common (read profitable) species. If they rotated species or developed new species through selective breeding they could possibly achieve more.

they have just found a massive amount of off shore oil in the irish sea near cork, something as large (if not larger) then the north sea i don't think they will too skint for long ...

I drilled off Ireland a few years ago for Total. But it was off Donegal. Another rig was drilling off Cork at the time.
