Yes, saw that. Only once though. It was amazing! Couldn't work out how they did it though. Couldn't see the cameras anywhere. Wondered if it was poss cgi?

I think cgi is the most likely option .

It's all gone Pete Tong in the Women's Badminton Pairs - skullduggery is afoot!
I hope they DQ all eight of them.

Referee threatened to DQ the first lot if they carried on. They carried on, he didn't follow through on his threat. That gave the second lot the licence to do it as well. If they DQ the teams (and you're quite right, they should) they should chuck out the ref from the first game too. On the other side the the coin, that football games last night was cracking. One of the best games I've seen in ages in any form of the sport. Jon

Deliberately trying to lose a match. There are two Chinese doubles pairs in the badminton. The first pair lost, unexpectedly. That meant that if the second Chinese pair won, they would be in the same half of the draw as their compatriots and would therefore at the latest meet in the semi-final, thus denying the Chinese a gold & silver double, the best they could get would be gold & bronze. So the second chinese pair played and deliberately tried to lose their match. The pair they were playing also wanted to avoid the first Chinese pair, so they also were trying to lose. Result is two teams double faulting all the time, playing shots well outside the court etc. The ref warned them they would be disqualified if they carried on, but in the end did nothing about it. The Chinese pair were better at not winning, so they were in the other half of the draw. Then two other pairs came on, both realised that if they won they would have to be in the side where the best Chinese pair would be. So, seeing the earlier players had got away with it, they decided to do exactly the same thing to try to get an easier draw in the next round. Result? Chaos, crowd booing and complaining, people asking for their money back etc... if the ref had just kicked the first four out like he should have done, it would still have been a story but it wouldn't have been the minor debacle it's turned into. In other Olympics news, there's currently an Indonesian woman in the archery wearing a truly spectacular hat. I think she's been watching too many Robin Hood films and thought that was how we all still dress. Ah, she's just won I think, excellent. And next on it's Amy Oliver for GB...

It started out with the Chinese teams - arguably the best two pairs in the world. The first pair lost a match to Denmark (I think) which meant they would probably meet their own countrymen (women) in the Semis - ruling out any opportunity for them to tie up both Gold and Silver in the final. So the second pair deliberately tried (and succeeded) to throw their match; putting them into the other half of the draw, and enabling them to meet their first team in the final. They were intentionally serving into the net and throwing points away. The Koreans twigged and tried to scupper their plans by also trying to throw the match - as did the Indonesians. Apparently it's rife within the sport and has happened more than a few times in major tournaments. [edit] Ninja'd by Jon

They should just flip a coin as soon as both teams say they want to lose.

Amy's out - Rochmawati ( The Indonesian girl with the Hat of Power) shot 30 in the last round and never shot less than 28. Just too good.

By my reading, that takes us up to 14th in the medal table, just behind Romania and one silver behind the Aussies.
