Chinese archer Dai XiaouXiang has spent the whole competition wearing a black baseball cap with a large 'C' logo on it. Dunno which, but it's obviously some sports company. When he came out for his final game, the bronze medal playoff, the logo is covered with a massive piece of yellow gaffa tape, as obviously one of the branding Stasi has noticed its not an Olympic partner brand.
He's already shot five rounds wearing the same cap for god's sake, what a fatuous gesture.

Olympic fact of the day (via the QI elves)
The 2012 games last 17 days and each athlete has been supplied with 15 condoms.

i think the indoor cycling is the only sporting event that benefits from bad weather, riders can go quicker in the low air pressure of a storm or depression.

Andy Murray beat Novak Djokovic to set up a final against Federer. So... Silver then. As much as I would like him to do it...

Depends if the roofs open... Can I just be deeply sexist for a moment and comment that Anna Watkins is really hot

I've had a brilliant but exhausting week at the Olympics, working hard (16 hour days) and got to watch some amazing swimming, meet some famous people and I'm now shattered. I was on a total adrenaline high on Weds when I went to see the swimming and skipped across the bridge from the Aquatic centre arm-in-arm with my boss! I have really enjoyed my Olympic experience, from the Opening ceremony to the Hospitality, sorting and handing out tickets, organising catering, moving furniture, meeting the press from all over the world and just to make it a little bit better, (although unrelated to the Olympics) got home today to find letter inviting Red and I to experience Track Marshalling days in Sept and Oct with a view to becoming Track Marshalls for the racecourses in the Midlands! Amazeballs and Awesomesauce

Nice couple of golds in the rowing this morning. Men's coxless four and Women's lightweight double sculls.

Clear third in the table. Jess Ennis still on course for gold. It's a nice morning...

Silver in the Men's Lightweight Double Sculls too - very close race.

I think third in the table was the best we could possibly hope for.

Indeed, IIRC the deal always was we wanted to be 'best of the rest', nobody seemed to be under any illusions. USA & China would be top two, in one order or the other. Jon

Heptathlon javelin has finished, only the 800m this evening to go. Jess Ennis has a 180 point lead over 2nd place. Not quite sure how many seconds of lead that translates to but it's quite a lot.
In other news, Serena Williams is giving Maria Sharapova what can only be described as 'an absolute whuppin' in the women's singles gold medal match.

Depending on the absolute times, 10 seconds equates to an average of about 150 points.
