I do about 7 of those, I'd say. Lessons learnt and all that.

Good day at work = waiting on weather. Ie it's to rough to use the cranes to unload the boat etc. Bad day = fog when you're trying to get off.

I'm quite a positive person at work and I enjoy my job, but I don't employ any of this bollocks and would probably avoid people who do. I can't stand fake smiles, false sincerity or overly happy/optimistic people (the part of the article which implores you to state "I feel fantastic!" etc).

Then you're probably not aware of the fact that you can manufacture your own happiness, and that this artificial happiness can be just as beneficial to your health, outlook and mood as "genuine" happiness: http://www.ted.com/talks/dan_gilbert_as ... happy.htmlYou should envy those people with the "fake" smiles.

Take it to the States, this is Britain, I like my customer service assistants thoroughly grounded, sober and sombre, thank you.

I was employing an example, but it applies to all roles.

So, you're saying you don't want to be happy?

I didn't say that and nor can you infer it from what I posted. I'm suggesting that it is entirely possible to be happy without all the fake smiles and false sincerity.
