Calculating fuel use.
I finally sat down and plugged in some figures for my daily commute. I used to go via the motorway as it took the same amount of time as any other route but at a constant 60mph meant I used less fuel. However roadworks on the way to the motorway meant I could be stuck in traffic for ages. For the past eight months, I've been trying different routes but have now worked out what I thought was best.
Outgoing journey - stop/start 30mph traffic. Distance = 11.3 miles. MPG = 24mpg Return - constant 40/60mph. Distance = 21.8 miles. MPG = 35mph
Unfortunately, the calculations show I use more fuel on the motorway because of the distance. Both journies take a similar amount of time.

Shame Jessie J had to get in on the act.

Love Queen, but someone who could sing would have been nice.

Freddie Mercury showed, just by going, der du der du de doddy doddy do, he had more talent than nearly all of the other artists combined. To be fair the only singers on show witht he voices to pull off a Freddie song were Jessie J or Matt Bellamy.
George Michael shouldn't have been allowed to sing his second song, and what a waste of Annie Lennox... wtf was that boat all about? The show was in places ugly, dull and flat, and in others overly-excited, piecemeal awkward (Brand, Fatboy, Fashion, Token John Lennon) and confusing (Octopus), with flashes of genuine interest during Queen and Always Look On The Bright Side of Life, quickly, expertly ruined by a really ham-fisted, incompetent, inspiration-free, and at times just lazy director.

I saw Queen live at Wembley. An absolutely incredible experience. There were a couple of unknown bands backing them, a little Ozzie band called Inxs, the Alarm. The second headline act was Status Quo, but then Freddie came on stage with "One Visiion", the whole place was electrified. I still get goose bumps and a shudder going down my spine when I think back to that concert.

I think I'm too good to find a proper job any more.

I was at that concert - probably the best concert I have ever been to - and bumped into an old mate who I had not seen for a few years at one of the bars

Not necessarily in that order.
