Looks like the police may have shot quite a few of the public while taking down the gunman.

Indeed. I've just seen a report that suggests the gunman shot one person - the person he'd gone there intending to shoot - and the police shot nine innocent bystanders trying to take him out.

You see that in movies a lot and assume that the real yank police know that they would most likely kill many bystanders. What an odd society they are.
