Having lolled, I have had women from Indo-Pak backgrounds who have had issues because their husbands have found out about their premarital sexual activities. Some have gone to the point of suicide. But then that begs the question - in an area where premarital sex is frowned upon, why is the man also engaged in this activity? Given (according to the article) the most popular question the men are asking sexual advice columns is 'How do I tell if my new wife is a virgin or not?' I think the ladies may be wasting their money. Clue : Lieing is much cheaper.

Of course, we really can't take too much of a moral high ground about this. The reason brides in judeo-christian cultures traditionally wear white is as a public statement of purety i.e. virginity. It mattered just as much to European men... about 100 years ago.
