I don't think this should be hidden away in FPTOD thread. A big congratulations to you both Dave!

Just back from a wedding in Bremen - my girlfriend's goddaughter got married.

Oh, and after the rest had left the lovely pavilion, where the ceremony took place on Friday, I went down on one knee and asked my girlfriend to marry me.

She said YES!

Congrats dude. I agree it shouldn't have been hidden in FPOTD thread.

Thanks everybody!

I didn't want to blow my own trumpet and make my own thread.

We are both very happy. We went out and got engagement rings yesterday - well, ordered them.

As it was the wedding weekend of the goddaughter, I waited until everybody had gone, before I proposed in this really romantic spot. The Hochzeitshuus (Platt German for "Wedding House") is a small pavilion in a park.

We then kept it secret, until after all the wedding celebrations were over on Saturday night / Sunday morning, so that we didn't take anything away from their wedding.

It was funny, everybody in the family was coming up to us and saying we should be next and we shouldn't wait too long. Did they get a surprise the next day!
