Evening

Work was  :x    . That is all.

You were shocked to hear you'd made an unanticipated mistake and were in equal parts frustrated and embarrassed, feelings which turned into anger, which has since faded into apathy or maybe dejection?

How many people are ringing?
Stop ringing! :x
Oh bloody hell! This is getting embarrassing
Right - who's cocked up and what did they do?
Idiots

I'm assuming I've missed something here, but y'wot?

It actually wasn't nicked. My tax is in situ and valid and correct. It's all to do with the bloody STUPID OLYMPICS (long story)!

Safe to say letters fired off to council and the local MP this morning.

I feel much better now :D

Two years as a minimum design, but in reality that figure is based on funding. If the performance of Curiosity and the data it provides are positive then no doubt it will continue for many years. Unlike the other rovers it is powered from the heat produced by nuclear decay of a Plutonium source, rather than solar power. The source is designed to last for 14 years.

If it didn't hang around for science or be affected by terrain, Curiosity would be able to cover over 11,000km in that time, over half of a circumnavigation of Mars.

If you want to hire me as a contractor for that very purpose I feel I have just the skills that you're looking for.

I'd hire you if I had that power Edd. Unfortunately I am a lowly telecoms engineer.

That's a new one on me. I will steal and use it for my own purposes, I think. 8-)

I hate to steal JL's thunder, but I believe that's a Black Adder quote. Series 3, if memory serves.

EDIT : No, Series 2 - Money. Possibly the second greatest half hour in British comedy, only surpassed by the episode that followed it.

Jon is indeed quite correct, it is shamelessly lifted straight from Blackadder. It's a series littered with excellent phrases for dropping into converstations.

Excellent! It'll still find its way into my vocab, I think. :D

I can't follow this thread to see what you're all talking about as whatever heather quoted that was said earlier was miles back and tapatalk only gives you one quote. But based on the last couple of posts, I'd like to say, "I am the baby eating bishop of bath and wells."

I had posted the line about 'needs must when the devil vomits in your kettle' in the FPOTD thread.

Bishop of Bath and Wells: You fiend! Never have I encountered such corrupt and foul-minded perversity! Have you ever considered a career in the church?!

No wonder I couldn't find it!.

My parents gave me a black adder video as a stocking filler when I was about 10. It was blackadder "money, beer and chains" all I remember when I opened it was the big 15 designation on it. I don't think they'd seen blackadder before, I certainly hadn't.

Great start to the work... went outside for a smoke and noticed that one of the tyres on my car was completely flat. Changed the wheel and I'm off out to get it fixed in a while.

And £8 later, one fixed tyre...

Get the ibuprofen gel. I bought the Superdrug own one which was really good.
