I'll try to avoid that very specific and unlikely scenario, thanks for the heads up.

Why do people find it so difficult to get behind the concept that a wedding is just a day? People are getting married, but it's not a social statement, it's just a wedding. Since it's our wedding, we're organising and paying for it, it'll be the wedding we want, not the one that other people expect. Similarly, the people who are invited are the people we want to have there, not just everyone we know.

TBH I think it's the big three, isn't it? Birth, marriage and death.

Possibly. Although I never expected it to be so difficult to explain that we never really "got engaged" we just decided to start planning a wedding.

Your friend wasn't in Australia by any chance? I've heard they use burger cheese for everything down there

At my wedding I not only had my parents families to consider but step parents. Ended up having 2 'dos' to please everyone. If I ever do it again I will plan the day I want. Stick to your guns Amy and do it how you want. At the end of the day if you look back and say I really enjoyed that then mission accomplished. If other people don't like what you planned then tough and if you lose someone in your life because of it (as I did) then they weren't meant to be in your life anyway.

That's the issue, F-i-l's wife is saying that if we don't invite her children, then she and Red's Dad won't come. We're both fine with that so it looks like that's the way it's going to be, its irked me because she tried to play the "well, they are Reds step brothers and sister" card which is blackmail and automagically puts my back up. Thing is, that link wasn't so important when her eldest son got married and we didn't find out for a year, or when Reds Dad asked her youngest son to be best man when he got married, instead of his own son!

If your paying for it. Its your rules, if they don't like it tough. As long as you have the important people there ie you and red, the registar and the witnesses. Then that's all you need. If people can't abide by your rules and help celebrate your important day.. [LIFTED] them!

Dear Ladbrokes and Paddy Power. Your adverts aren't funny, thought you'd want to know this seeing as you seem to be under the misapprehension that they are funny, though I don't know why.
