On the other note whether you think Amy is really stupid or not she's still made tons of money. I'd class myself as being quite intelligent yet I don't have £3 million in the bank. She has done something right. Well jel

Please don't take this the wrong way Cas but I think they pay her more money to stand around in her pants than they'd pay you...

I am taking that the wrong way. I have some very nice pants :P

Earning money has nothing to do with brains, talent or ability it seems. It's all to do with what other people think you're worth. She's symptomatic of a culture where I end up giving a Health & Safety talk to 16 year olds, and then one of them goes to A&E with a chipped shoulder blade because another 16 year old doesn't know how to operate a revolving door properly.
Morons. We're a nation of morons.

Unfortunately, I have to concur. The ability of the general public to deal with simple coughs/colds has massively declined. Everyone wants a "quick" fix. I remember seeing a girl in her twenties who attended A&E with her boyfriend. It was the height of winter and we had been inundated with very poorly patients. She had waited almost four hours to be seen. She was concerned about her throat and was worried. Diagnosis? Viral infection. The look on the boyfriend's face was priceless.

I've also seen people after doing ridiculously stupid things like inserting nails into jap eyes.

Some people almost want a nanny state such they are so incapable of managing themselves as adults.

I must be the anti patient then, my wife has had to nag me to go to the doctors and something has to be seriously wrong for me to goto A&E like broken ribs, ankle or electrocution. Otherwise its stay at home take some painkillers and wait it out.

I think that there is an element of there must be a solution to things. I never bother my GP about my amnesia. I know far more about the condition and statistically he will never come across another patient so why bother them. Colds are viral and you need to allow your body to do its job. Just take a paracetamol if your throat is sore. Wrap up well and wait it out. The whole anti risk side has meant that people simply do not know how good they have it and what to do in an emergency.
