Yes and American companies seem to have more of it than anyone else. I totally accept that it should have been stated as an objective rather than a statement of fact. Though the fact that they switched data suppliers meant that they did have the best maps app until they replaced Google with Tom Tom. They clearly failed to appreciate what Google had added to the mix.

If I take out a GiffGaff £10 a month plan, will I get to keep my existing phone number?

Apparently so, going by some of the ads I've seen. Considering it myself. Anyone heard any horror stories though?

I think you can but check they have nano sims available. I was looking at GiffGaff but they have no nano sims right now.

Just been digging on the Giff Gaff site and found this. So it seems porting your number is totally possible. This is good news. (8+) Mark

Speaking with a friend on Fb has just alerted me to the fact that Visual Voicemail is (or was as I believe Orange now has it) an O2 specific feature. I really like my Visual Voicemail. Decisions, decisions.

It is possible. My friend joined giffgaff month ago. All you need is to type in your PAC code onto a special webform and that's it, your number will port. One thing I would say is thay they will change £10 goodybag soon (november?). It will only have 1gb of data but you will be able to tether. Cheapest goodybag with unlimited data will cost £12 (no tethering) http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Blog/M ... -p/6064268

Yeah, visual voicemail is O2 only I'm afraid. Never actually seen it in action. I've always been on Orange.

Does Giff Gaff have it though? I know that they piggyback the O2 network but do they get visual voicemail as well?

Nope. As mentioned above, Giff Gaff don't do Visual Voicemail. I'm still undecided if I can do without it. Mark

I am still undecided as to who to join. Giff Gaff suits me as a relatively low user but could there be better options out there for me?

Three do a low user for £7 a month on a 12-month contract, a tenner for 30-day rolling contract.

That sounds good enough for me. Though I will look and see about tethering as well.
