I've got a rather entertaining mental image of Bratty trying to maneuver a big enough bandsaw into roughly the position required to cut down a tree!

The Speedtest.net app in iOS has a little easter egg.
When you've finished the test, you can pull the dial down out of the way for an amusing cat picture.
Quite what future generations are going to make of this cat obsession, I don't know.
Perhaps the Egyptians were the same.

You can keep doing it for other amusing entries for quite a while.

That churches in Germany are funded by a state tax on registered believers. What with the ongoing child abuse scandal affecting numbers, the Vatican has seemingly decreed that there won't be any communion, confession etc for those who are withholding money for whatever reason. That should really help matters...

Alienate your own flock. That's the spirit! ;)

Wow, imagine the church putting material wealth before the needs of it's congregation...

...on second thoughts, nevermind.

I remember Big D saying that ages ago. I'm surprised there are any 'registered' believers left in these hard times.

It's a bit like that here. There's some old law that's never been repealed. A C of E church can demand people living (home owners) in the parish pay for church repairs. They tired it once a few years ago. Somehow the church won in court. Now house buyers are offered insurance in case they do it again.
I refused the insurance on principle.
I'd love to see them try and get the money out of me.

My fiance works for a Catholic nursing home. She has to be registered with a church, although not Catholic, in order to work there.

As there aren't any Anglican churches in the area, I am not registered with any.

A couple of her brothers have "left" the church.

Hang on, 1 foot in the geological record would surely go back hundreds of years.
Clearly, this is evidence of a highly advanced lost civilisation.
It's probably from a UFO.
Built by the Nazis.
To Illuminati plans.

Same in Finland, unless you 'divorce' the Church then you automatically pay tax to them AFAIK. My GF left when she was a kid.

Breast milk has a much more yellowy colour than cow's milk.
