Even when you go in store to look as laptops, it doesn't mention on the sticker or the laptop desltop what the screen resolution is.
I had to get a staff member to log out of the display account and log into the staff account on each laptop so they could go into the settings and see what the maximum screen resolution was.
A waste of their time and mine. I gave up after four laptops and left.

And speaking of laptop screens, nowhere (online or instore) lets you know the screen type (TN, IPS etc)

The number of road works around work.
They're working on a traffic light controlled cross roads just down the road (busy junction, 3 lanes in each direction) that they were meant to have finished last year.
They're closing the road for 2 weeks on the alternative route that I normally use.
It's down to a traffic light-controlled one lane right outside work, which means traffic queuing past, and so blocking, the entrance to work.
My alternatives are the single lane country road to the back of the site, but there's always some twat that either doesn't know how to use reverse and thinks 30-40mph on a lane with tight bends and high hedgerows is the right thing to do, and they'll be loads more traffic on it as a result of the works
Or, my most likely option, driving a couple of miles past the site to turn round and come back at it from the other direction, probably with every other poor sod.
This time of year is always rubbish for road works because they refuse to them in holiday season.

It's probably more a case they need to get them all done before the winter sets in. Not only are they harder to do then, but if they don't get the repairs done before we get sub-zero temperatures, the damage will be worse when they finally get round to them.

Same near me, they're resurfaceing a couple of miles of the main road near my house. Caused absolute chaos for a month but it needed to be done, the potholes were getting dangerous and if they'd left it another winter it'd have been murder to repair.

I don't know if they do less than they should in the summer, although I suppose road repairers need to go on holiday just like everyone else.

That reminds me. The route to work normally has a 40mph dual carriageway. Recently, there were lots of roadworks going on. Next thing I notice are all these lampposts. More importantly, there's no 40mph sign any more. More importantly than that, almost nobody else has noticed and there was a police van parked up recently. Similarly, a road near my house has been downgraded to a 30mph sign without warning.
What winds me up is that these roads have been 40mph for as long as I can remember (certainly over 20 years) so it is automated in most people to drive at that speed. A frikkin speed limit sign would have been courteous.

ION I live close to a hospital and pass it on the way home. In the mornings, I can't pass it because there's a huge queue of employees trying to get in. Hence I normally go in the opposite direction and turn left at a cross road into a smaller road and reach the same point if I'd gone in the direction of the hospital. The reason I don't come home in the same way is because the cross roads is notoriously difficult. Turning right from that small side road onto the main road can involve a wait of up to five mins and even then there's no guaranteed safe passage. It really does need a traffic light system. I now find they're planning to build a school opposite the hospital. This is very bad news as it means even more congestion in the morning rush hour. More importantly, it means on the days I leave work slightly early, I'll be caught in the congestion. Wrose still, my other alternative is to reach the aforementioned crossroad where I would have to try and turn right.

Sometimes I think nobody has figured or foreseen all this, or is just [LIFTED] at planning.

Well, yes, they do need to get them in before winter (although we're usually blessed with milder winters than say, Yorkshire, down here), but the fact is my site is well out of town, they've had all summer when there wasn't 3000+ people trying to get to the same place. It's not as if we're right next to a major tourist draw either.
The closure to one lane is simply because of a redevelopment, not the road itself.
The complete closure is, I hope and pray, to resurface the road.
The big crossroads junction is frankly baffling. They completely reworked it and resurfaced it as year ago.
