Ah yes, the hilarity of voting that the state should

a) Increase public spending
b) Decrease taxes
c) Balance the books

If I was one of the people responsible for that I'd be tearing my hair out (or quitting). I guess the issue stems from the fact that those three votes should never have been separated out, they should have come as part and parcel of a wider set of options.
